Every August we have a get together, called a stemne, in a town or city in the upper Midwest. At our stemne we gather to celebrate our Norwegian heritage, to share in fellowship and friendship, to learn about our own genealogy and family history and to listen to speakers and entertainers. Every fourth year we travel together to Sogn og Fjordane, Norway, together to keep alive connections between our two countries.
Make plans to join us for our next stemne:
August 10-12, 2017
Since we last met in Stoughton, some new places of Norwegian interest have opened. We will visit the new Livsreise Norwegian Heritage Center, next door to the Sons of Norway Mandt Lodge. Livsreise, which translates to Life's Journey, is a Norwegian interactive cultural center highlighting Norwegian immigration to this area.

Our meetings can now also be held in Mandt Lodge, which is air conditioned and handicap accessible.
A committee of board members are busy procuring speakers and we will continue to hold our silent auction which benefits our scholarship fund for youth.
